The Metronome

The Metronome

Placed on the hill of Letná Park in 1991 and designed by artist Vratislav Novak, in the spot left vacant by the destruction in 1962 of a Joseph Stalin momument. .[1] The meaning behind the metronome is unclear, there's a few theries... but its an amazing view from up there also a popular skate boarding spot.

Communist Museum

Communist Museum

Intrigeing riff-raff from the Communist era curated by U.S expats - the museum is sandwiched between a McDonalds and a casino...(very funny guys)

Furtura Modern Art Gallery

Furtura Modern Art Gallery

Contemporary art space, donation only to have a look around. Audio Visual exhibitions mainly- and highly challenging 'art'. You can also find David Cerny's sculpture "brownnosing" in the courtyard. Amusing and offensive and profoundly tricky to find unless you go down the staircase, through the passageway and look sideways out the window

Sculture of Don Giovanni's Ghost

Sculture of Don Giovanni's Ghost

The piece must be hollow because the sculpture was once brilliantly squeezed back together after the fire department had to extract a drunk teenage girl who got stuck during a photo shoot at 4am one morning

The Cemetary at Vyšehrad

The Cemetary at Vyšehrad

A decent walk down the River heading toward the Prague 4 district, there's a steep climb to a large cathedral and cemetery which some intriguing headstones. This one I never want to see at night. Some of the head stones are works of art.

Off the Map - Holečkova St

A great example of what happens when you wander off the edge of the the tourist map. I took this when I was walking up Holečkova St, trying to find the Furtura Gallery.

Cities Without Make-up

GUILTY OF:

Rampant hosting of binge drinking parties

Impossibly beautiful buildings, river scenes and general Postcard Pornography

Stage Lighting designed and commisioned by the Rolling Stones for Prague Castle

BREIF WANDERLUST OR SERIOUS RELATIONSHIP ?

Definitely might go there again but only in the winter, on weeknights or in the early mornings. Too many squealing teens hanging around in the peak season

Score/5:  ♥♥♥♥♡
